Responsibilities
Develops and optimizes the processing of chemical compounds (e.g., hydrogels, adhesives, polymers)
Defines chemical requirements and identify methods to characterize chemical properties and reactions
Supports the development and validation of new or modified chemical processes, including equipment specifications, raw material requirements, vendor oversight, and capital requests
Writes procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment and support operator training as needed
Operates under general direction from senior team members or management
Executes deliverables in alignment with the Technical Development Process (TDP) and Quality Systems
Performs troubleshooting on chemical processes and systems
Analyzes and summarize test data to inform decision-making
Prepares documentation and technical reports to communicate findings
Collaborates effectively across functional departments and project teams
Qualification
Required
Hold a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
Apply statistical concepts in manufacturing and quality environments
Preferred
Bring experience in the medical device or other regulated industry
Hold a master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
Contribute to Class II or Class III medical device product development
Apply advanced experimental design and statistical analysis techniques
Demonstrate knowledge and hands-on experience in hydrogel or other chemical processing techniques
Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
