Discovery Land Company is a U.S.-based real estate developer and operator of private residential club communities and resorts. They are seeking a Gas Dock Attendant to maintain a clean and safe work environment, provide exceptional customer service to residents and guests at the docks, and ensure that all amenities are in order for members and their guests.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Greet residents and guests as they arrive at the docks, providing exceptional customer service and assistance with any inquiries

Engage the membership and promote the family friendly lifestyle at the marina

Ensure all amenities are in order and ready to be presented to our members and their guests

Prepare valet dock area for services to include proper chair and table placement, stock fridges and freezers adequately, and begin service at posted times

Daily boat maintenance for member boats, this included uncovering and covering, stocking

Complete all opening and closing procedures and daily/weekly side work

Adhere to Club uniform and appearance standards

Assist co-workers with disposal and re-stocking of inventory

Always maintain marina cleanliness during hours of operations

Promote a culture of safety awareness among members and guests, emphasizing the importance of proper boating practices and water safety measures

Immediately communicate Safety and Maintenance concerns to your immediate supervisor and request a follow-up is conducted

Keep daily records of usage of the club facilities and report needed charges to the Outdoor Pursuits office daily

Assist in the slip rentals for daily moorage

Uphold the club’s policies and procedures both personally and with your staff

Required

Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in a maritime or recreational boating environment

Must have strong knowledge of proper knot etiquette, boat safety, and attention to detail

Must have knowledge and adherence to all state laws pertaining to water-way laws

Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members

Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred

Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds
