Responsibilities

Obtains all information necessary for admission and discharge of patients, including information to ensure payment to Presbyterian Hospital

Responsible for retrieving all medical records including pathology reports, x-ray reports, and all outside reports from referring physicians

Answers all calls promptly and courteously, taking accurate messages and delivering them in a timely manner

Provides backup for all patient charges and insurance verification/processing

Prepares daily treatment, doctor, and simulator schedules and distributes in a timely manner

Required

High school plus specialized, short-term training in secretarial skills, ability to type 45 wpm, word processor skills

Good grammar and communication skills. Knowledge of office equipment

Less than one year office experience in a customer service or medical office
