Contract Specialist

The Contract Specialist will manage, review, draft, and negotiate contracts related to the company’s operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and collaborating with various departments.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including but not limited to, product sales agreements, GPO agreement, supplier agreements, distribution agreements, service contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and licensing agreements
Ensure contracts align with company policies, industry regulations and legal requirements (including Anti-kickback statute, FDA, and ISO standards)
Maintain and track contract templates, updates, and approvals to ensure compliance
Manage the contract lifecycle from initiation to execution, ensuring timely renewals and amendments when necessary
Review and assess risk factors in contracts and provide risk mitigation recommendations
Work closely with internal teams, including but not limited to Sales, Marketing, R&D, Factory, Procurement, and Finance to understand business needs and ensure contract terms are favorable and legally sound
Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on contract processes and policies
Assist in dispute resolution related to contract terms, acting as the primary point of contact between the company and external parties when issues arise
Ensure contracts adhere to applicable healthcare laws, medical device regulations, and industry standards
Assist with audits and due diligence processes related to contract compliance
Maintain accurate contract records and data in contract management systems and other internal platforms
Generate reports on contract status, renewals, and any potential risks or outstanding issues
Suggest and implement improvements to the contract management process, aiming for greater efficiency, compliance, and risk reduction
Stay current on relevant industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously enhance the company’s contract management procedures

Required

Bachelor's degree
3+ years of experience in contract management or a similar role, preferably in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry
Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts
Strong understanding of contract law and regulatory compliance within the medical device industry
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software (e.g., Word, Excel, DocuSign, etc.)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Certification in Contract Management (e.g., CCM, CPCM) is a plus
Familiarity with healthcare regulations, such as FDA, HIPAA, and ISO standards, is strongly preferred
