Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of approximately 10–20 matters
Investigate claims and develop case strategies
Assess and respond to complaints filed in state and federal courts
Draft and respond to written discovery
Review and analyze documents for production
Conduct legal research
Take and defend depositions
Draft and file pleadings and motions
Argue motions at hearings
Prepare pre‑trial and trial documents
Prepare cases for mediation or trial and participate as needed
Communicate effectively with clients and provide strategic advice
Advise clients on employment issues including retaliation, accommodations, discipline, and terminations
Handle matters involving labor and employment investigations
Qualification
Required
Previous law firm experience required; Am Law 200, leading regional, or major boutique firm experience preferred
5–8 years of labor and employment litigation experience
Admission to the California Bar
Extensive experience handling all phases of litigation
Strong deposition experience
Experience arguing motions in court
Ability to independently manage cases with partner oversight
Exceptional legal writing and communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple matters
Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently
Preferred
Trial experience
Experience advising clients on a broad range of employment issues
Experience with labor and employment investigations
Membership in the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI)
