Responsibilities
Lead the innovation, development, and optimization of new manufacturing processes and procedures
Champion the use of Design for Reliability and Manufacturing (DRM) and data-driven methods through process development
Collaborate with process owners and product development teams to define robust process flows for new products
Work with technology development to understand and implement new process technologies
Own requirements flow down from product design to process development, ensuring efficient and cost-effective control strategies
Manage equipment scouting, selection, qualification, and characterization
Oversee process characterization and validation activities to ensure process maturity and stability
Lead risk assessments for process interfaces and interactions, providing input into product and process design
Apply statistical methods to design experiments and implement improvements
Coordinate and perform experiments and product builds to establish robust processes
Implement and manage yield monitoring systems and procedures for developed equipment and processes
Monitor, root cause, and resolve process yield issues during development
Lead corrective actions for yield issues in collaboration with process owners and product engineers
Review product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods and determine costs and schedules
Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations and maintain documentation per quality system regulations
Qualification
Required
Experience with 10 laser welding systems
Background in medical device process development and manufacturing, with a focus on products with electrical functionality
Examples of critical thinking and use of statistics
Experience working in cross-functional teams and leveraging basic project management skills
Proficiency in scientific problem-solving methodologies
Attention to detail and accuracy to meet required standards
Process development (characterization and validation – DOE, PCR, TMV, IQ, OQ, PQ)
Statistics
Strong problem-solving skills
Advanced degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a similar discipline
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
