Scalence L.L.C. is seeking a Senior Staff Attorney to handle cases within Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This role involves analyzing complex legal issues, preparing legal documents, and providing timely legal advice to clients and claims.

Responsibilities
Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research, independently develop and present defense strategies on behalf of clients
Prepare complex pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions and briefs in support of defense strategies without supervision because of level of experience and expertise
Provide effective and timely communications, information, legal advice and other services to clients and claims on legal and factual issues
Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel and co-counsel in a manner consistent with established office procedures
Promptly and efficiently handle the disposition of assigned cases
Independently prepares and presents witnesses and evidence at hearings and alternative dispute resolutions
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 7 years of legal practice experience handling general liability and/or auto cases
JD from accredited law school and license to practice in the state of Massachusetts and Rhode Island
Positive minded and collaborative team-player attitude
Excellent legal research and writing skills
Strong MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
Self-directed with excellent organizational and prioritization skills
Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly leverage new software as required
Preferred
Additional licensure to practice law in New Hampshire a plus
