Responsibilities
Provide legal representation and assistance in Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims
May be assigned cases involving eligibility for public assistance and Medicaid benefits
Collaborate with a passionate team, engaging in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative strategies and solutions tailored to each client's unique situation
Participate in training and advocacy initiatives, ensuring skills and knowledge remain sharp
Build strong relationships with clients while navigating complex legal landscapes
Qualification
Required
Admitted to the NYS Bar or eligible to sit for the NYS Bar exam
Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality legal services to various civil matters
Effective communication skills to engage compassionately with clients and collaborate seamlessly with colleagues
Organized and able to work independently and efficiently, managing multiple cases while meeting deadlines
Strong computer skills, including accurate data entry
Valid driver's license and access to a car for outreach and client visits across the service area
Preferred
Prior legal experience in Social Security Administration disability representation
Being multilingual, especially in Spanish
