TEC Group, Inc. is seeking a Powertrain Engine Calibration Engineer responsible for developing optimal engine calibration to meet drivability metrics and ensure emissions compliance. The role involves planning and coordinating testing activities while collaborating with a team to deliver functional objectives related to propulsion systems.

Responsibilities

Developing the optimal engine calibration to meet drivability metrics along with ensuring optimal emissions and fuel economy
Responsible for the calibration maturity and development of sub features resulting in an overall optimal propulsion system
Carrying out responsibilities across all different types of propulsion system concepts including varying levels of electrification
Planning and coordinating daily activities of propulsion dynos and vehicle related testing
Collaborating with technicians and laboratory support engineers
Developing and executing test plans and timelines with reports generated to communicate status of the program to larger development and management teams

Required

Obtained a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited University
Demonstrated 3 or more years of work experience in the area of spark ignition engine controls and calibration
Strong familiarities related to engine system development including related technologies and subsystems such as combustion, valvetrain, fuel system, boost systems, EGR systems, aftertreatment systems, controls and its algorithm including diagnostics
Feature calibration experience with exposure to optimizing drivability, emissions, and fuel economy
Experience in launching applications meeting US based Client/ACCII standards and regulations as well as ROW markets including (Enlarged Europe, APAC, LATAM)
Data acquisition experience collecting and processing data providing meaningful summaries and next steps
Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently
Effective communication skills and able to create and present information in a clear and concise manner to colleagues and management
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and ETAS/INCA

Preferred

Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited University
5 years of experience is preferred
DFSS green belt or higher
Execution of Problem-solving techniques (RedX, Six Sigma, 3L5W, Kaizen, 5S)
