ELEVATOR/CONVEYOR SUPPORT UNIT (ESU/CSU) ENGINEERING TECHICIAN III

Kros-Wise, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician III to support mechanical and electrical repairs and testing onboard ships and in the shop. The role involves maintenance, repair, overhaul, assembly, installation, and troubleshooting of ships' elevator and conveyor systems and components.

Responsibilities

Support contractor personnel shall accomplish mechanical and electrical repairs and testing onboard ships and in the shop
Work includes removal, maintenance, repair, overhaul, assembly, installation, alignment, troubleshooting, modifying, and testing of ships' elevator and conveyor mechanical and electrical systems and components including vertical package conveyors, dumbwaiters, cargo and weapons elevators, and medical personnel evacuation emergency platforms
Support contractor personnel shall utilize standard mechanic's tools, torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators and other precision measuring instruments, fixtures, portable machine tools, and various gauges in the removal, maintenance, repair, overhaul, assembly, installation, alignment, and testing of shipboard elevator and conveyor equipment, components, and subassemblies
Support contractor personnel shall read, interpret, and understand technical references, data, and specifications to include: ship drawings; equipment technical manuals; blueprints; schematics; and sketches
Support contractor personnel shall identify materials and parts requiring replacement on equipment, components and subassemblies. Provide recommendations to the Government
Support contractor personnel shall work from ladders, scaffolding and platforms, and where system equipment is hard-to-reach places, requiring the need to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions
Work in inclement weather and/or with high noise levels. Additionally, be exposed to oil, grease, dirt, dampness, noise, and vibration
Support contractor personnel shall frequently lift, carry, and help set up tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to 50 pounds. Occasionally assist with carrying items that weigh over 50 pounds (two persons required)
