Business Development Associate

Responsibilities
Execute outbound outreach to business owners and senior executives via email, phone, and LinkedIn
Conduct cold calls when appropriate and engage confidently in unscripted conversations with owners and C-suite executives
Manage follow-up cadence and touchpoint strategy as relationships develop over time
Support the development and execution of outreach campaigns
Review and refine target company lists, including confirming ownership details and contact information
Document insights from conversations and outreach activity in the firm’s CRM system
Attend kickoff meetings with the deal team for new sourcing campaigns
Provide ongoing updates to investment professionals through bi-weekly or monthly meetings
Share qualitative insights from owner conversations that may inform diligence, valuation, or investment strategy
Collaborate with management teams at portfolio companies for add-on campaigns
Initially execute against an established sourcing playbook
Contribute ideas and enhancements to outreach strategy, messaging, and processes over time
Proactively identify creative ways to reach business owners and improve response rates
Qualification
Required
1–5 years of professional experience in a sales, business development, or client-facing role
Demonstrated cold-calling experience; must be comfortable picking up the phone and speaking with senior decision-makers
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly learn new industries
High level of organization and comfort working in a CRM environment
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Preferred
Experience selling to business owners or C-suite executives
Background in B2B sales, financial services sales, recruiting, staffing, or SaaS
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a less structured environment

Bonus: Discretionary bonus up to $25,000 (Performance-based bonus tied to a pooled percentage of deals closed by the proprietary sourcing team)
