Project Finance Associate
NextGrid is a renewable energy company focused on developing, financing, and operating commercial and industrial solar and storage projects. They are seeking a Project Finance Associate to support project finance transactions and contribute to financial planning and analysis within the company.

Responsibilities
Support the structuring, execution, and closing of project finance transactions, including debt, tax equity, and hybrid structures
Own core financial analyses and transaction deliverables, ensuring accuracy and alignment with agreed financing terms
Coordinate diligence materials, transaction timelines, and information flow across internal teams and external lenders, investors, and advisors
Support the preparation and maintenance of the company’s annual budget and periodic forecasts
Develop and maintain integrated financial models covering income statement, cash flow, and liquidity at the enterprise level
Perform budget-to-actual variance analysis and support management reporting
Support long-range planning, capital allocation analysis, and scenario modeling to inform strategic decision-making
Build and maintain detailed project-level and corporate-level financial models
Perform sensitivity analyses, downside cases, and scenario modeling across projects and the consolidated company
Ensure consistency between project finance models and corporate forecasts
Partner with development, legal, engineering, and operations teams to evaluate the financial implications of commercial contracts and development decisions
Support financing strategy, capital planning, and portfolio optimization initiatives
Assist with post-close activities, including loan draws, covenant compliance tracking, and investor reporting
Monitor portfolio performance and corporate liquidity, identifying risks and optimization opportunities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field
5 to 7 years of progressive experience in project finance, renewable energy finance, corporate finance, or financial planning and analysis
Demonstrated experience owning complex financial models, financing workstreams, and company-wide budgeting and forecasting processes
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong project finance and corporate financial modeling skills
Solid understanding of renewable energy financing structures and incentive frameworks applicable to solar and storage projects
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across transactions and corporate planning cycles
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support senior leadership and external stakeholders
