Faculty (Open Rank) - Electrical Engineering
The University of St. Thomas (UST)-Houston is a private Catholic University dedicated to liberal arts and the tradition of Catholic higher education. They are seeking a full-time, non-tenure track faculty member in electrical engineering who is passionate about teaching, mentoring undergraduate students, and supporting applied learning through hands-on education.
Education Management
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses in electrical engineering
Develop, update, and manage laboratory curricula and experiments
Supervise undergraduate student projects and capstone design experiences
Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development and program assessment
Engage in professional development and/or applied research related to experimental electrical engineering education
Provide academic advising and mentoring to students as needed
Service activities as needed by the department and the university
Developing a research program involving and suited for undergraduate student participation
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
Demonstrated teaching, mentoring, and research experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A commitment to the mission of the University of St. Thomas
Preferred
Industry or academic experience in any of the following areas: communication systems, electronic systems design and manufacturing, electrical generation, transmission and distribution systems, control of industrial and robotic systems
Familiarity with industrial safety practices, compliance, and/or risk engineering is a plus
Prior experience in curriculum or lab development at the university level
PE license for electrical engineer
