Widger Talent is a recruiting agency managing a direct-hire search for Sweet Spot Media, a modern, full-service marketing agency. They are seeking a Strategic Creative Director to elevate creative output and establish systems for growth, leading creative vision across integrated campaigns and mentoring the in-house team.

Responsibilities

Lead the creative vision and set the creative standard across integrated campaigns spanning broadcast, digital, social, experiential, print, retail, and emerging platforms
Translate business objectives and audience insights into clear creative direction that drives smart, effective, and distinctive work
Partner with strategy, account, and production to align on approach, set expectations, manage risk, and deliver work that is on time, on budget, and consistently delights customers
Guide work from brief to concept to final delivery while ensuring excellence in craft, originality, and execution and enforcing quality controls that meet the highest industry standards
Build and continuously improve scalable creative workflows, documentation, and review processes that reduce rework and support future growth
Develop, mentor, and inspire the in-house creative team through direct, timely feedback that strengthens creative thinking and raises performance
Ensure creative consistency across all channels and touchpoints so the brand experience feels cohesive, intentional, and premium
Present work and creative rationale confidently to senior clients and internal stakeholders and lead conversations that drive alignment and decisions
Stay current on cultural insights, platform changes, and category trends, with a strong point of view on what matters, particularly for automotive audiences
Model Sweet Spot’s values through high ownership, a solutions mindset, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to help the team and our clients win

Required

8+ years of creative experience in an integrated agency environment, with a track record of leading high-performing creative teams
Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptually driven, multi-channel work with exceptional craft and attention to detail
Proven ability to translate strategy into creative that drives business outcomes (not just great aesthetics)
Demonstrated experience building repeatable processes that improve creative throughput, quality, and team alignment (creative ops mindset)
Confident, credible client-facing leader with excellent presentation, communication, and collaboration skills
Hands-on leadership style: able to direct, mentor, and jump in to solve problems or elevate work when needed
High accountability and follow-through; sets clear expectations, meets deadlines, and holds the bar without compromising team morale
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, in-office environment in El Segundo, CA

Preferred

Automotive experience strongly preferred (consumer + dealer audiences), but not required
