Responsibilities
Partner with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements, translating them into detailed mapping documents and solution designs
Write and optimize complex SQL and BigQuery queries to analyze data, validate requirements, and support solution design
Provide developers with clear, accurate mapping documents and collaborate closely to resolve issues with rules, logic, or data discrepancies
Troubleshoot and tweak queries when developers encounter issues, ensuring solutions remain accurate and aligned with business needs
Support performance tuning and query optimization efforts, creating solutions that consider efficiency and scalability from the start
Work alongside data engineers and developers to validate data flows and ensure solutions are properly implemented
Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to ensure requirements and solutions align with business objectives
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role in data-centric environments
Strong, hands-on expertise with SQL and Google BigQuery (complex queries, analysis, validation, optimization)
Proven ability to create detailed mapping documents for developers based on business requirements and data analysis
Experience with performance tuning and query optimization in SQL/BigQuery
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills to serve as the bridge between business and technical teams
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve query issues in collaboration with developers
Preferred
Experience with SQL Server and/or Power BI
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices
Prior experience working in multi-cloud or enterprise-scale environments
