Lead Manual and Automation Tester, Scrum Master

PlanIT Group, LLC is seeking a Lead Manual and Automation Tester and Scrum Master. The successful candidate will be responsible for test execution, providing ad hoc testing support throughout all SDLC phases, and leading the development and testing team in Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

Perform test execution and provide ad hoc testing support throughout all SDLC phases
Create/execute test scenarios
Work with development team for defect resolution as necessary
Demonstrate user stories and functionality to client
Perform verification of test conditions using backend systems
Run SQL queries
Check service responses using Postman, SoapUI or similar tools
Provide direction to the development and testing team members
Conduct Agile Ceremonies
Oversee work and release management
Ensure quality, meeting the specified expectations, reducing the risk or errors and customer satisfaction
Create documentation and communicate clear concise test plans, test scenarios and test cases using Client ALM or similar testing tools
Run manual tests and incorporate automated testing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce expenses
Build and utilize Test Automation scripts and framework (UFT)
Create detailed defect reports
Utilize DevOps and Agile methods to promote collaboration and flexibility in software testing and development
Use Version One or other work management tools
Understand the complete life cycle of a system (SDLC) application and operating systems
Knowledge of Web services and verification tools such as Postman, SoapUI
Research/troubleshoot ad hoc questions and support issues
Collaborate with key stakeholders, Solutions Architects, Product Owner, Managers and Developers

Required

A minimum of eight (8) years experience in software development, software quality assurance/control, and/or related field
Able to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program
Able to oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
Experience training/mentoring less experienced personnel
Extensive knowledge of and experience with formal software testing for complex software applications
Extensive experience testing software applications, identifying/documenting defects, and working with developers and end users to resolve defects
Extensive experience with multiple defect tracking tools (e.g. Rational, Mercury)
Extensive experience authoring software-quality-related documentation such as requirements specifications, test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports
Able to obtain Public Trust Clearance
Excellent communication skills
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check
All candidates must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years
Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members)

Preferred

A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred
