Benefits Analyst

Responsibilities

Administer benefits programs, including enrollment, claims resolution, defined benefit pension, 401(k) programs, and employee communications
Act as a liaison between employees and benefit vendors to resolve benefits-related matters
Escalate complex issues to ensure timely and effective resolution of employee inquiries
Provide guidance and support to employees regarding benefits, ensuring exceptional customer service
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation for all benefit plans to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
Assist the Director with leave of absence, time-off programs, and workers’ compensation administration
Support the Director in developing and revising benefit programs by analyzing cost, regulatory requirements, employee understanding, and competitive positioning
Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

3+ years of experience administering defined benefit and defined contribution plans, including working with auditors, third-party administrators, and benefits consultants
Bachelor's degree in a business or related
Strong understanding of federal and state laws related to health and retirement plan administration
Working knowledge of benefits administration systems and basic compensation structures
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to audiences ranging from hourly employees to senior leadership
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
Regular, full-time onsite attendance required

Preferred

Experience working in a union environment preferred
Working knowledge of a full spectrum of employee benefits across industries
Working knowledge of Work Day
