Responsibilities
Leads in the completion of daily and monthly operational accounting areas of responsibility including the daily management of an array of ESB and HDFS account reconciliations and schedules, monthly detailed analyses, and reports as necessary to assist in the month-end close process and quarterly reporting and analyses for management and HDFS, ESB and Harley-Davidson, Inc. reporting
Prepare quarterly regulatory reporting and year-end financial statements, including footnote disclosures for ESB
Performs daily and monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, procedures, and other related tasks
Participates in ledger and sub-ledger systems testing, including the execution of departmental functional and regression test plans, identifying defects and seeking resolution
Leads in system maintenance, including maintaining current reporting requirements and system interfaces, with a focus on SAP General Ledger and relevant sub-ledger systems
Execute process improvement projects to streamline reporting and analysis through the use of available technology tools, such as advanced Excel functions and/or AI
Assists with ad-hoc financial reporting requests, external and internal audits
Assists the accounting team with maintaining compliance with GAAP and other regulatory agency technical guidance. This may include research-related projects, various ad-hoc financial reporting requests and other special projects
Proactively brings identified issues and proposed solutions to the attention of management
Makes judgment, when called upon, regarding accounting treatment of individual items
Establishes relationships with other departments and acts as contact for internal/external auditors for areas of responsibility

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree Required
Bachelor's Degree with Concentration in Accounting required
Minimum of 4 years of related experience or 2 years of public accounting experience
Demonstrated ability to leverage available technology tools, such as advanced Excel functions and/or AI, to improve efficiency and accuracy of reporting
High level of professionalism
Demonstrated ability to perform duties with a strong attention to detail and limited supervision
Strong analytical skills
Proven ability to take the initiative, multi-task, and achieve results
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Ability to leverage an understanding of business and system processes to develop accurate financial information and solutions
Advanced proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office products, and familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot
