Responsibilities
Support internal Xylem departments, both inside and outside the Lubbock location, with vertical turbine product and process expertise
Support customers with engineering questions related to product design, application, testing, and field troubleshooting
Support the Design Engineering team with engineered-to-order projects and designs, from concept to CAD model and drawing creation
Oversee engineering projects related to product design, product improvement, and process improvement
Support the Engineering Manager with product certification and compliance activities
Create new ISO documents, forms, procedures, and work instructions for the Engineering Department. Understand and revise existing ISO files as required
Maintain awareness of new processes and procedures in the marketplace (i.e. additive manufacturing practices) that can improve the vertical turbine product line from a quality, delivery, and cost perspective
Attend MRB (management review board) meetings and make recommendations and dispositions for non-conforming products
Provide engineering training to new engineering hires as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager
Qualification
Required
B.S. Mechanical Engineering, or a different engineering degree from an accredited university at the Engineering Manager's discretion
An aptitude for good analytical skills and the ability to organize and implement engineering tasks
The ability to interface well with others and to direct, and take direction from others, as required
Preferred
2-3 years engineering experience in the pumping or hydraulic machinery field
3-5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with PTC Creo, PTC Windchill
A Texas Professional Engineer License
Knowledgeable in MS Office applications
