Associate Director of Network Operations

The Associate Director of Network Operations will guide the strategic direction and performance of Carrier’s Global Network Operations, ensuring service reliability and operational excellence while leading a high-performing team of network engineers.

Responsibilities
Own the stability, security, and scalability of global enterprise networks (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, firewalls) across cloud and on-prem environments
Define and drive network modernization initiatives including automation, zero-trust architecture, performance engineering, and resiliency
Lead a high-performing team of network engineers; set technical standards, enforce accountability, and develop engineering talent
Act as top-tier escalation and incident commander for critical network events, ensuring rapid recovery and minimal business impact
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Security, DevOps, and Business Operations to support hybrid, high-growth environments
Implement ITIL-based processes for incident, change, and problem management to ensure operational excellence
Drive observability improvements through telemetry, actionable alerts, and predictive analytics using advanced monitoring tools
Champion firewall policy enforcement, segmentation, and secure remote access strategies
Maintain compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal governance standards
Define and report operational KPIs (uptime, MTTR, change success rates) to leadership, driving transparency and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
5 years of experience in network operations
5 years of experience in switching/routing/wireless and firewall/VPN technologies
3 years of experience in operating key processes including incident, change and problem management
3 years of experience as a team lead either with matrixed team members or direct reports
Preferred
Degree in Computer Science or Business Management
Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCDP
Experience with SD-WAN technologies (Cisco Viptela, Meraki, or similar)
Enterprise wireless experience across office, manufacturing, and distribution environments
Cloud networking experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI
Familiarity with advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
