Responsibilities
Oversee and ensure successful implementation of all existing government, institutional, and private contracts, including deliverables, timelines, and reporting requirements
Serve as the primary organizational point of contact for contract funders and agency partners
Coordinate with program staff and consultants to ensure scope alignment, quality control, and compliance
Monitor contract-related budgets and ensure responsible fiscal management
Identify and proactively address risks that could impact performance, compliance, or funding
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Advocacy Academy, ensuring it aligns with organizational mission and community impact goals while meeting all programmatic and reporting requirements
Keeping current funders and partners warm and engaged through regular updates, impact reporting, and relationship management
Building new funding relationships with foundations, corporate partners, public agencies, and individual donors
Soliciting funds through direct asks, renewals, sponsorships, and proposal development
Representing The Flossy Organization in funder meetings, briefings, and external networking opportunities
Collaborating with the Board of Directors to activate networks and advance fundraising goals
Maintain a full, active, and forward-looking grant pipeline to support organizational sustainability
Oversee grant prospecting, application timelines, submission processes, and renewals
Ensure grant narratives align with The Flossy’s mission, impact, and strategic priorities
Manage post-award reporting and compliance requirements
Track deadlines and outcomes in coordination with staff and consultants
Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision for staff, contractors, and consultants
Set short-term organizational priorities and ensure clarity around roles, expectations, and timelines
Foster a healthy, accountable, and mission-aligned team culture during the interim period
Support staff continuity and mitigate burnout during leadership transition
Oversee organizational budget, cash flow, and short-term financial planning
Approve expenditures in alignment with approved budgets, contracts, and grant restrictions
Ensure strong internal controls, documentation, and compliance practices
Prepare the organization for audits, funder reviews, and reporting requirements
Serve as an external ambassador for The Flossy Organization
Maintain relationships with community partners, coalitions, elected officials, and institutional stakeholders
Ensure continuity of organizational strategy and priorities during the interim period
Document key insights, recommendations, and transition notes for the Board of Directors
Qualification
Required
1+ years of nonprofit leadership, senior management, or executive-level experience
Demonstrated success managing government and institutional contracts
Proven fundraising experience, including donor stewardship, solicitation, and grants
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage teams, budgets, and multiple deadlines effectively
Strong alignment with racial justice, community organizing, and civic engagement values
Preferred
Familiarity with the NYC nonprofit, advocacy, or government ecosystem preferred
