Damco Solutions is seeking a driven and experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) – IT Technical Lead to support the strategic leadership of the IT function. In this role, you will oversee critical technology initiatives, ensure operational excellence, and manage a team of IT professionals.

Responsibilities

Assist senior IT leadership in developing and executing IT strategies aligned with organizational objectives
Manage IT projects including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and implementation
Oversee the performance and development of IT teams to ensure high productivity and engagement
Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems, infrastructure, and applications
Ensure IT operations meet standards of security, scalability, and compliance
Act as a liaison between IT and other departments to address technology needs
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption to improve business processes and services
Monitor and report on IT performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for software, hardware, and services

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
9+ years of experience in IT roles, including 4+ years in a leadership position
Proven ability to manage complex IT projects and cross-functional teams
Strong knowledge of modern development principles and best practices
Expertise in cybersecurity, compliance, and IT governance
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and enterprise systems
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience in budgeting and financial management for software delivery teams

Preferred

Master's degree
Prior experience in the insurance industry is highly desirable, particularly working with pricing and/or reserving actuaries
