Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end accounting for a unique cash-flow producing portfolio, including interest accruals and allowance for losses
Lead the monthly consolidation process for multiple legal entities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
Research and implement new accounting standards and draft technical memos to support company positions
Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and maintain a robust internal control environment
Streamline the closing cycle and other key processes by leveraging technology and automating manual spreadsheet tasks
Manage weekly servicing settlement (remittances, servicing fees, reversals/adjustments) and drive exception resolution
Reconcile bank activity, servicer reports, and accounting records (bank, clearing, and settlement accounts)
Qualification
Required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong loan accounting and month-end close experience
Comfort owning reconciliations and partner-facing workflows
Expertise with complex consolidations involving multiple entities
Expertise with Microsoft Excel and enterprise accounting software
Strong analytical mindset
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to various stakeholders
Confident communicator able to tackle problems logically and efficiently
Ability to achieve buy-in from senior stakeholders
Ability to interact with senior stakeholders, building strong working relationships
Ability to learn quickly and excel in a lean organization
Preferred
CPA preferred but not required if experience depth is strong
Financial services experience strongly preferred
Entrepreneurial spirit, a plus
