Responsibilities

Reviewing the current SSVF Notice of Funding Opportunity and translating requirements into a clear action plan
Assessing Homes for Veterans’ organizational readiness and eligibility for SSVF funding
Advising on program design and alignment with SSVF priorities, including homelessness prevention and housing stability
Identifying documentation, policies, and data needed for a competitive federal application
Providing feedback on draft narrative sections, budget considerations, and required attachments
Offering best practices and lessons learned from successful VA or federal grant applications

Required

Deep expertise in federal grant applications, specifically VA grants such as the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program

Familiarity with eligibility criteria and competitive positioning for SSVF or similar federal programs
Ability to review the current SSVF Notice of Funding Opportunity and translate requirements into a clear action plan
Capability to assess Homes for Veterans' organizational readiness and eligibility for SSVF funding
Experience advising on program design and alignment with SSVF priorities, including homelessness prevention and housing stability
Skill in identifying documentation, policies, and data needed for a competitive federal application
Ability to provide feedback on draft narrative sections, budget considerations, and required attachments
Knowledge of best practices and lessons learned from successful VA or federal grant applications
Availability to contribute 2–5 hours per week over several weeks
