Responsibilities
Responsibilities include the daily processing of purchase orders, maintenance and updating of the purchase order system. Ensuring a complete follow-through from purchase requisition to purchase order creation and issuance product / service receipt, and invoice approval. Attention to detail and accuracy in all documentation are crucial
Effective communication skills are necessary for clear and precise interactions with colleagues and requisitioners, while also enforcing policies and protocols to maintain departmental integrity and standardization
The role involves actively seeking new suppliers and researching quality materials and services, as well as negotiating product and service costs, delivery, and payment terms to enhance company profitability
Regular communication with suppliers regarding quality, quantity, price, service, delivery, and problem resolution required, alongside maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers
The ability to multitask and adapt to changing job demands is (are) important, as is the capacity to work effectively under pressure in order to meet deadlines
Knowledge of woodworking is considered an advantage
Qualification
Required
Must have HS Diploma and have at least two years' experience in purchasing
A comprehensive understanding of purchasing process, procedures, and inventory management are essential
