Novant Health is seeking a Manager/Administrative Division Chief to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the EMS department. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, managing the EMS System Plan, and overseeing various initiatives aimed at enhancing prehospital care and staff development.

Responsibilities

Providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of the EMS department

Ensuring compliance with North Carolina Office of EMS (NCOEMS) regulations and Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) standards

Managing the New Hanover County EMS System Plan

Ensuring system-wide adherence to shared policies, protocols, and performance standards

Working closely with the EMS System Medical Director

Chairing the quarterly EMS System Providers Meeting

Leading initiatives in quality improvement, education, and clinical governance

Overseeing the EMS continuing education program in compliance with NCOEMS requirement and regulations

Providing oversight of the Mobile Health simulation center

Responsible for innovation initiatives including prehospital blood program and simulation center

Directing clinical performance monitoring, registry reporting, and research initiatives

Providing direct supervision to the Education Captain and Performance Improvement Captain

Conducting employee evaluations, disciplinary conferences, and the development and implementation of performance improvement plans

Overseeing the department’s 12 Field Training Officers

Fostering staff development through coaching, mentoring, and facilitating opportunities for professional growth and advancement

Leading recruitment and professional development initiatives for EMS personnel

Coordinating strategic priorities and compliance efforts to enhance clinical excellence and operational efficiency
