Responsibilities

Lead the design and buildout of our hardware prototypes
Own the mechanical design across IP67+ enclosure for compute, power, and sensors
Manage passive thermal management under high-heat load
Work on urban infrastructure
Integrate energy harvesting, sensors, and modular components
Ensure full DFM path from prototype to scalable production

Required

5+ years mechanical engineering experience with shipped outdoor/industrial products
Deep expertise in IP67/IP68 enclosure design (sealing, gaskets, glands, materials)
Strong experience in passive thermal management for sealed electronics
CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent)
Experience with environmental testing: ingress, thermal cycling, UV, salt fog, vibration
Knowledge of outdoor-rated materials (UV-stable polymers, marine-grade metals, EPDM/silicone)
Hands-on prototyping skills (3D printing, machining, sheet metal)
Proven ability to take designs from prototype to production (molded, cast, or CNC)

Preferred

Experience with infrastructure-mounted hardware (telecom, traffic, utility, or street systems)
Background in renewable energy hardware
Structural/wind load analysis for infrastructure systems
Experience with automotive, aerospace, or ruggedized consumer electronics
Familiarity with waterproof connectors and quick-connect systems
Experience designing for coastal or hurricane-prone environments
Thermal simulation experience (CFD preferred)
Aesthetic or industrial design experience (form + function)
Familiarity with UL, CE, FCC compliance for outdoor systems
Background in telecom cabinets, small cells, or municipal infrastructure deployments
Experience with building-integrated solar
