UNM Hospital is seeking a TCD Technologist to prepare and complete Transcranial Dopplers for evaluating blood flow in the brain's major arteries. The role involves instructing staff and maintaining supplies within the Neurodiagnostics lab while ensuring adherence to hospital policies and assisting with research studies.

Responsibilities
REPORTS - Performs TCD studies and creates reports for patients following the guidelines and procedures of The American Society of Neuroimaging (ASN and The American Academy of Neurology (AAN)
QUALITY - Recognizes and troubleshoots physiologic and non-physiological artifact and technical issues, taking reasonable steps to obtain quality TCD results on each patient; performs TCD studies independently in routine settings under the direct supervision of our Neurologists
CLEAN - Cleans, replenishes, maintains and assures availability of instruments and supplies needed for studies
CLINIC DUTIES - Assist clinical staff with TCD coding, and scheduling as needed
OTHER DUTIES - Perform other duties as assigned or requested
PATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
PATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
PATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
PATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
PATIENT SAFETY 5 - Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"
Qualification
Required
Associate Degree
1 year directly related experience
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
Related Education and Experience may be substituted for one another on a year for year basis
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
Registration in EEG; ABRET Registration evoked potentials
