Responsibilities

Successfully performs work individually, as a member of a single craft, or a multi-craft crew. Complies with all craft and shipyard safety and environmental measures
Responsible for doing some of his/her own planning
Tests equipment as applicable
Proper care and safe use of hand and power tools
Works from project specifications and applicable working drawings and blueprints
Responsible for being compliant with project standards, policies, and procedures
Effectively take direction from and communicate with other shift personnel to continue efficient workflow
Incumbent performs similar work in all areas of the Yard as the need arises

Required

High school diploma or GED preferred
2 years relevant work experience
Proven skills: Work history and/or applicable education will be considered in lieu of work experience
Communicates effectively, work independently or in a group
Ability to do basic math, i.e. add, subtract, divide and multiply
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
Demonstrable knowledge of AC and DC electrical theory
Power generation, control and distribution
Use of test equipment
Drawing, reading and layout
Electric motors and controls
Grounding and bonding
Cable – identification, size requirements and ampacity limits or where to find the information
Fabrication and installation of multiple cable transits, conduit, and raceways
Conduit bending
Interior communications and alarms
Ability to reason and find solutions
Complete on the job training as needed per project
The physical demands for this position require continual standing, walking and using fine motor skills for the operation of tools and machinery
Ability to lift, carry 60 lbs. May require some lifting or assistance with heavy equipment
Occasionally requires twisting, turning, bending, climbing, and walking over uneven surfaces
Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb
Work mostly indoors in areas possibly exposed to external weather conditions
Uses safety equipment
Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision to judge distance/ spatial relationships)
Vision Near Acuity (clarity of vision at 20 inches or less)
Pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship
