OPX Engineer

The OPX Engineer is responsible for coordinating Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities, driving initiatives to enhance performance and efficiency in production processes.

Responsibilities

Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace
To manage the tkDC Danville continuous improvement programs and to actively promote continual improvement in all processes
Improve employee satisfaction and communication through the motivation and creation of a high-performance team
Implement programs that boost morale and an environment of innovation and excitement
To create a Lean environment with a focus on creating a strong culture of continuous improvement
Perform value stream mapping activities for all production related processes
To be a self-directed, highly motivated individual who can efficiently and effectively implement improvement ideas and solutions
To provide options, support, and suggestions to improvement teams
To support continuous improvement documentation and reporting, including task lists, reports, benefit summaries and presentations
Coordinate and facilitate internal and external continual improvement meetings and otherwise communicate and collaborate with others
To regularly communicate continual improvement status to the Management group by the use of charts, presentations and reports
To lead cost savings workshops and identify Impact measures on a continuous basis
To eliminate 8 forms of waste for Lean Manufacturing
To plan and conduct Kaizen workshops as requested
To train new and existing employees on Lean techniques, continuous improvement practices and programs
To support the 24-hour production operation through flexible work hours

Required

Bachelor of Science Degree preferred and/or three to five years of demonstrated experience conducting continuous improvement and Lean practices
Continual Improvement and team training experience in a production and manufacturing environment preferred
Candidates must possess the following reasoning ability
Can speak and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff at all levels from operator to management, with OEMs and with visitors
Can read and write to effectively communicate information and technical concepts, and to produce effective written documentation
Has the ability to present information effectively as well as respond to questions from management groups and customers
Can correctly interpret documents such as written instructions, spreadsheets, drawings, and manuals
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio
Maximo computerized maintenance management software
Occasional travel, up to 10% including international

Preferred

Preferred previous experience with: 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping, Eight Deadly Wastes, Kaizen, problem solving
SAP Integrated Business Software preferred
