IT Application Developer
The State of Washington is seeking an IT Application Developer to provide technical expertise and development support for the commission’s digital services. The role involves designing, coding, testing, and deploying software components while ensuring the stability and performance of critical business systems through collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Apply advanced knowledge to write and update web pages and forms; create data connections and queries; design and build object classes, methods, and properties; compose report definitions; design code solutions and database tables; build stored procedures; and create or modify other computer code using Visual Studio, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, and other tools and languages in a mixed Dynamics, SharePoint, .NET, and SQL environment to create and maintain custom applications needed by the agency
Interact with customers via meetings, conversations, email, and phone calls to identify application requirements, priorities, and other details needed to complete work assignments
Write and conduct automated and manual application tests using test driven development design patterns to ensure additions and changes to applications work as expected and reliably perform to the users’ requirements
Write documentation of designs, deployments, system features, and procedures required to maintain applications using DevOps, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and other tools to ensure application maintainability and support troubleshooting
Advise and coordinate with the IT Operations section to ensure system stability, support patches and upgrades, and plan application releases and deployments
Qualification
Required
Four years' information technology experience developing and maintaining computer applications (an associate's degree or completed accredited information technology vocational training program will substitute for one (1) year of experience)
Advanced experience in Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET, SQL, and JavaScript
Experience or training in Agile development theory and practice
Knowledge of application development, database design, developer tools, object class design and development, designing for testing, and release deployment tasks
Ability to apply test-driven development procedures and to define and maintain tests for application features
Ability and willingness to engage with a collaborative, transparent, and learning- and sharing-oriented environment while completing assignments
