Postdoctoral Research Fellow-Center for Discovery & Innovation (CDI)

John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work in the lab of Dr. Yi Zhang. The role involves conducting research in T cell biology, cancer immunotherapy, and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, focusing on epigenetic regulation of T cell immunity using preclinical models of CAR-T cell therapy.

Responsibilities

Conducts research and/or laboratory tasks and experiments under direct supervision
Collects, analyzes and interprets data
Creates reports from analysis of initial observations and conclusions
Presents findings to higher level staff
Presents results in internal and external research forums such as scientific conferences, lab meetings and institutional seminars
Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
Participates in grant and manuscript writing, as appropriate
Other duties and/or projects as assigned
Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior

Required

A Ph.D. degree in scientific discipline
Minimum publication or in preparation of two articles as first author in a reputable peer-reviewed scientific journal
Excellent written and verbal skills
Good problem solving skills
Ability to conduct independent research
Ability to work effectively in a team
Technical laboratory experiment techniques. Examples include but are not limited to RT-PCR, RNA/DNA extraction/preparation, staining, sample embedding, sectioning, etc
Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms

Preferred

Experience working in a BSL2/BSL3 lab facility
