Responsibilities

Perform complex Neurodiagnostic procedures of the central and peripheral nervous system for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neurological diseases
Participate in the implementation of ASET, ACNS, and AANEM standards of care, and physician orders to achieve effective utilization of services and improved patient outcomes
Deliver patient care through proper execution of care standards, physician orders, and advanced electro-neurodiagnostic practitioner skills
Perform neurodiagnostic studies on the brain, somatosensory system, and other central and peripheral structures
Accountable and responsible for the performance of Neurodiagnostic procedures including Standard EEGs, LTM, CVEEG within the EMU, 24/48/ or 72-hour Ambulatory EEGs, Evoked Potentials, and NCS/EMGs
Demonstrate anatomic and physiological data through proper electrode application, preparation of a technical history to aid the interpreting physician, selection of test protocol, and clinical observation of the test subject
Review electrographic recordings for identification, technique, and completeness according to ABRET Accreditation Standards, and lab policy and procedure
Possess knowledge and techniques in data reformatting and data reduction and be responsible for analyses and extraction of pertinent data for physician interpretation and archive
Acquire the necessary skills to perform new neurodiagnostic studies as they are added to the service product line
Actively train into all test applications and acquire the skills necessary to work autonomously
Participate in educational sessions contributing technical and professional knowledge to students, allied health personnel, and physicians
Evaluate new instrumentation and biomedical equipment related to neurodiagnostic technology
Participate actively in the accreditation application and pre-application process
Fulfill continuing education requirements to maintain certification in good standing
Maintain all Neurodiagnostic exam records and files
Maintain a healing, aesthetic environment
Schedule patients according to department policies, evaluate if a patient can tolerate an examination, determine what type of procedure to follow, and suggest the best location for testing
Greet patients, physicians, and the General Public in a manner consistent with the Purpose Statement, Values, and Standards of Conduct of Renown Health
Learn to operate a variety of sophisticated electrophysiological Neurodiagnostic units and reading center devices
Provide care based on the patient’s physical motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to patients ranging in age from newborn through geriatric

Required

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
Boarded in ABRET registry (R. EEG T) -or- AAET registry (R. NCS. T) / ABRM Certification (C. NCS T) required
Two years of recent high-level Neurodiagnostic experience is required
Ability to obtain and maintain one of the following: Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. EEG T) from American Board of Electroencephalographic & Evoked potential Tech (ABRET), a Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R. NCS. T) from American Association of electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET), or Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT) from American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM) required at time of hire
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association CPR certification for health care providers required at time of hire
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc
