Human Resources Specialist (HR Specialist)

Big Top Manufacturing is a company specializing in high-performance fabric structures and is currently seeking a Human Resources Specialist. The HR Specialist will provide operational and tactical support across various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration.

Construction

Responsibilities

Assists with the recruitment process to include creating job advertisements, screening resumes and applications, and representing the company at recruitment-related functions
Prepares and manages onboarding activities for salaried employees to ensure a smooth employee experience
Supports the payroll process by gathering, entering and verifying employee data
Addresses employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and benefits
Supports employee engagement initiatives and organizational culture programs
Assists with performance review processes and training initiatives
Coordinates benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and terminations
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of HR files and records
Other duties as assigned

Required

Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High level of discretion and professionalism
Exhibits a high level of accuracy and precision
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Competent in HR information system
Occasional travel to recruitment-related events which may require overtime
At least three years experience in a related HR role within a manufacturing or construction environment required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
