Pitkin County is offering an internship opportunity for students to gain industry experience in a career path aligned with their field of study. The intern will shadow employees, assist with daily tasks, and participate in general office duties while maintaining a reliable attendance record.

Responsibilities

Shadow Pitkin County employees for the purpose of gaining industry experience

Complete designated assignments as determined by the school curriculum

Assist Pitkin County staff in assigned department or division with daily tasks as requested

Participate in general office duties to include but not limited to data entry, scanning, filing and recording documents; conducting phone calls and interacting with the general public

Maintains reliable attendance record

Supports the relationship between Pitkin County government and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned

Required

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate school program with major course work in a field related to the assigned department

Must be resident in Colorado for the duration of the internship

Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

Safety policies, procedures, and practices for industry standards

Customer service techniques

Basic knowledge of office record keeping procedures

Organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines and accomplish tasks

Microsoft Office Products and Google Suite to include word processing, presentations and spreadsheets

Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing

Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
