Responsibilities
Pursue NBNC's ecological resilience goals through invasives management and native plant restoration
Lead volunteer and student groups in ecological restoration service projects
Collaborate with staff to plan for and implement solutions for healthy coexistence with resident beaver populations
Maintain existing trails and visitor experience installations (kiosks, displays, benches, etc.)
Maintain and care for NBNC's fruit orchard and conservation nursery
Assist with hosting summer nature programming at NBNC
Participate in an Independent Service Project under the guidance of VHCB AmeriCorps
Participate in all VHCB AmeriCorps Program Initiatives & outreach activities to promote AmeriCorps
Engage in professional and personal development activities and networking opportunities
Qualification
Required
High school diploma/GED
Minimum age of 17
Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Ability to serve in uneven and steep terrain
Skills in natural resource management and plant restoration
Experience in conservation stewardship and invasive species removal
Ability to lead volunteer and student groups in ecological restoration service projects
Collaboration skills to plan for and implement solutions for healthy coexistence with resident beaver populations
Ability to maintain existing trails and visitor experience installations
Experience in maintaining and caring for fruit orchards and conservation nurseries
Participation in summer nature programming
Engagement in professional and personal development activities
