They are seeking a part-time Research Assistant with expertise in big data analytics, machine learning, and deep learning to support research projects involving healthcare datasets.
Responsibilities
Data cleaning, data preprocessing, and data manipulation of large datasets
Development, training, and evaluation of machine learning and deep learning models
Feature engineering and model optimization
Creation of dashboards and data visualizations for research and reporting
Documentation of workflows and support for reproducible research
Collaboration with faculty, students, and interdisciplinary research teams
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, Biomedical Informatics, Engineering, or a related computational field and least 6 months experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Must be willing to work part time for at least 20 hours per week
Must have a strong background in data analytics, machine learning, and/or deep learning
Experience working with large, complex datasets
Must have strong written/verbal communication & interpersonal skills
Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills with strong attention to detail
Must have sound judgments with the ability to make independent decision
Ability to work with others as part of a collaborative research team
Preferred
Master's degree
Familiarity with big data frameworks or cloud/HPC environments is a plus
Experience in healthcare, biomedical, or EHR/EDR data
Experience with Python and relevant libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow)
