The role involves managing cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products while driving continuous improvements in product design and process efficiency.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, execution, and delivery of BIW projects from concept through production
Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and other internal teams to ensure seamless project execution
Support successful product launches through effective interdepartmental communication
Oversee the design and development of BIW components to meet OEM specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Manage relationships with external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components
Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality and cost efficiency
Identify and mitigate risks to project timelines, budgets, and quality
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Continuously evaluate and improve development and production processes to optimize efficiency, cost, and quality
Lead and mentor engineers to implement process improvements and design changes during development
Engage engineering teams to validate designs, benchmark performance, and ensure customer satisfaction
Maintain detailed project documentation and provide regular status updates to senior management

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field
Minimum 8 years of experience in automotive engineering
In-depth knowledge of BIW structural systems (underbody, upper body, roof, sealing/welding/adhesive), materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques
Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical issues with a focus on cost, quality, and schedule
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX), PLM systems, and MS Office Suite

Preferred

Master's degree in Engineering
Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other simulation tools
Strong project management skills with experience leading multi-disciplinary teams; PMP or similar certification preferred
