DSHS ESA DCS Child Support Program Manager

Responsibilities

Responsible for second-line supervision in the Olympia Field Office
Plan, organize, lead, and evaluate the activities and performance of multiple collection teams and a customer service team
Hire and train first-line supervisors; oversee the hiring, training, and performance of line staff
Provide guidance, instruction, and consultation to supervisors and/or managers regarding the investigation of employee complaints and/or misconduct
Respond to inquiries and complaints from outside sources and staff; investigate case handling issues and interpretation of regulations
Develop and implement program objectives
Build teamwork and a positive workplace culture
Represent the Division of Child Support at the local level with both public and private community partners and stakeholders

Required

A bachelor's degree with major study in business or public administration or closely allied field
Four years of professional supervisory and/or management experience related to child support enforcement and/or Debt Collection related functions
Six months' experience in strategic planning; organizing, directing and/or evaluating subordinate personnel within an enforcement related field
Equivalent experience may substitute year for year for education

Ability to develop strategies and effectively prioritize organizational efforts to achieve agreed-upon objectives, requirements, performance targets, and timelines
Ability to achieve results by setting challenging and attainable goals, ensuring quality and quantity standards are met, and recognizing/rewarding good performance
Customer Service Orientation – Ability and willingness to understand and satisfy the needs of others, including internal and external customers
Knowledge of state and federal child support statutes, rules, laws, and regulations
Ability to collaborate effectively with professional, managerial, and other levels in both the private and public sectors
