Mechanical Engineering Intern - Process Piping

They are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern - Process Piping to assist in the design and analysis of piping systems for high-tech facilities, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to real-world design processes.

Responsibilities

Assist engineers in the design and layout of process piping systems for liquids and gases
Perform basic calculations to support component sizing and equipment selection (pumps, valves, regulators, etc.)
Support 3D modeling and drafting efforts in Autodesk Revit and/or Inventor
Help prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and reports
Participate in project coordination meetings and learn how engineering interfaces with construction and client needs
Research relevant codes and standards (such as ASME B31.3 and ASME BPVC) under the guidance of senior engineers
Learn to use analysis and modeling software such as AFT Arrow, AFT Fathom, and Caesar II
Assist with site visit preparation, field data collection, and documentation as needed
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural engineers
Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and innovation

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited program
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Interest in fluid systems, piping design, or aerospace/manufacturing environments

Preferred

Completion of coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science preferred
Basic familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other 3D modeling software a plus
