Responsibilities
Define and execute the Quality Engineering and Test Automation strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements
Establish quality standards, KPIs, and release readiness criteria across products
Drive a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
Design, implement, and maintain automation frameworks (UI, API, and integration testing)
Lead efforts using Cypress and related automation tools
Review and contribute directly to test plans, test cases, automation scripts, and execution
Build, manage, and mentor a team of Automation & QA Engineers
Provide technical guidance, code reviews, performance feedback, and career development
Establish best practices for scalable, maintainable test automation
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, patient data security standards, and healthcare regulatory guidelines
Partner with Compliance and Security teams to validate data integrity, patient safety, and audit readiness
Apply healthcare QA best practices to EHR systems, clinical workflows, and staff operations
Work closely with Software Engineering, Product, Clinical Operations, and DevOps
Communicate quality risks, test results, and release readiness clearly to leadership and stakeholders
Participate actively in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
Drive shift-left testing practices across the SDLC
Lead defect analysis, root-cause investigations, and prevention efforts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering or Automation
5+ years of hands-on Electronic Health / Healthcare QA experience (REQUIRED)
5+ years in a technical leadership or management role
Proven experience testing healthcare IT systems, EHR platforms, and clinical workflows
Strong hands-on experience with Cypress and modern test automation frameworks
Experience with API testing, integration testing, and end-to-end automation
Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and QA best practices
Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with cloud-based environments and testing tools
Deep understanding of healthcare data workflows, patient safety considerations, and clinical operations
Experience with HIPAA compliance, data integrity, and security validation
Understanding of healthcare staff workflows and operational systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire high-performing engineering teams
