Program Director - Department of Criminal Justice

Azusa Pacific University is a Christ-centered institution seeking a Program Director for their Department of Criminal Justice. The Program Director will manage a grant program aimed at reducing domestic violence and related issues on campus, overseeing strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and program implementation.

Education

Responsibilities

Responsible for developing, modifying, and driving future growth and viability of program
Manage program budgets and resources which involves tracking expenses, and monitoring the effective and efficient use of resources
Supervise volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure that program goals are met. This will involve recruiting, training, delegating tasks, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching
Establish effective communication, and promote the program to increase visibility by developing marketing materials, coordinating outreach events, and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders
Monitor program outcomes and evaluate program effectiveness by analyzing data, working with OCS staff for data tracking, developing evaluation reports, and recommending program improvement
Collaborate with our external partners, Project Sister Family Services and the Azusa Police Department, to attend meetings, attend training sessions, develop collaborative projects, and share information and resources
Supervises student ambassadors who will support the overall functioning of the campus grant
Participate in mandatory New Grantee Orientation and Annual Project Directors Call
Participate in Training and Technical Assistance Institute sessions

Required

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of five years of professional experience, and prefer two years of directly related experience
Knowledge of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking is required
Demonstrate experience in grant management and/or administration
Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards
Great customer service skills; ability to interact professionally and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds; demonstrate a genuine commitment to serve
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel, and type 55 wpm; working in Access is a plus
Self-motivator with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
Collaborator and a commitment to a team-based approach
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
Ability to manage details, assess priorities, meet deadlines, and provide follow-through
Able to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision
Ability to learn and balance a variety of assignments in a first-year and growing program
Ability to manage a number of different tasks concurrently
Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and meet deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively with a team
Maintains a positive attitude
Ability to learn procedures and retain information
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion

Requires repetitive motion and sitting at a computer keyboard
Hearing and speaking on the telephone
Requires walking, taking stairs multiple times in a work day, and/or driving to various University locations
Able to conduct business at other offices on campus
Able to lift, bend, grasp, reach, and lift up to 20 lbs
Computer monitor, reading and note-writing
Proficient in Google Applications, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and willing to learn and grasp new programs and systems
