Responsibilities
Lead a team of highly qualified network, system and software development engineers to automate and optimize capacity scaling across a few domains including the backbone, internet, fiber and optical line system delivery
Be responsible for end to end ownership of software systems, including owning the software vision and roadmap across the capacity engineering team, aligning to best practices, business and customer requirements
Grow and manage software and network development engineers responsible for developing and maintaining software
Be a technical and solution oriented leader managing according to agile software development lifecycle methodologies delivering high quality software and a development process that allows for rapid iterations
Show business and technical judgement to accelerate time to market of releases, minimizing technical debt while incrementally moving services towards the vision
Ensure that software and tooling delivered are aligned with capacity deployment operations with ability to execute at scale
Continuously promote safe delivery through change control and operational excellence initiatives
Focus and manage services using data, metrics and dashboarding techniques
Collaborate with internal customers, partner teams and other stakeholders on deliveries and initiatives
Qualification
Required
3+ years of engineering team management experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
7+ years of engineering experience
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Preferred
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
