Responsibilities

Serves as an analyst/programmer team member for the Alaska Corrections Offender Management System (ACOMS)
Perform analysis, design, development, documentation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and support activities required to create or modify in-house applications used in support of the department’s data processing and information technology needs

Required

One year of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language for Analyst/Programmer 2
Two years of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language for Analyst/Programmer 3
Four years of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language for Analyst/Programmer 4
One year of experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer system user support specialty for all levels
A bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for all of the required experience
An associate's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience
Knowledge of computer languages and their applications
Knowledge of architectural methodologies used in the design and development of information systems
Knowledge of the principles and methods for designing business logic components, system processes and outputs, user interfaces, data inputs, and productivity tools
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures used for the automated control of a process
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools of quality assurance and quality control
