Responsibilities

Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and telecommunications plans including all associated circuitry, details, one-line diagrams and specifications
Perform system design calculations, load calculations, arc flash and fault current, lighting, and any other calculations required to support electrical design
Prepare electrical construction documents including drawings, specifications, and reports for an assortment of buildings including science and technology, infrastructure upgrades, laboratory design, and commercial buildings
Ensure design is consistent with the overall vision and design schedules are maintained
Work closely with the client and other design team members, including owners, architects, and contractors
Selection and specification of appropriate equipment
Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues

Required

Seven to ten (7-10) years professional experience in designing Electrical Systems for life sciences, science and technology, infrastructure upgrades, labs, commercial buildings working with AE or MEP consulting firms
Strong AutoCAD capabilities, Revit is a plus
Strong understanding of the NEC and the International Building Codes
Ability to multi-task with multiple projects to meet strict deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing
Bachelors in Electrical Engineering

Preferred

PE License is preferred but not required
