Steptoe LLP is seeking an experienced litigator for a Staff Attorney position in its Houston office. The Staff Attorney will work on commercial litigation matters, assisting with legal research, drafting pleadings, managing litigation calendars, and communicating with opposing counsel.

Being an integral part of litigation teams

Legal research and writing

Drafting pleadings and motions

Document review

Written discovery and motion practice

Reviewing litigation correspondence and pleadings and reporting time-sensitive issues to the Partner in charge

Managing litigation calendar and ensuring all deadlines are met

Assisting with settlement and mediations

Communicating with opposing counsel

Assisting with preparation of memos and updates to clients

Required

Minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation

Strong academic credentials

Excellent writing and analytical skills

Texas bar membership, active and in good standing
