Responsibilities

Review And Analyze The Deposit Of Revenue Records On a Daily And Monthly Basis To Ensure Accuracy And Completeness
Perform Reconciliations Of Fund Balances And Deposit Activity, And Assist In Performance Measure And System Projects
Compiles financial data for the creation, transmission, and reconciliation of cash journals (A8’s) in the Cash Receipts Reporting System (CRRS) and the Automated Tax and Licensing System (ATLAS) for cash, check, and electronic payments made to the Department of Revenue
Reconciles daily transactions between financial institutions, the State Treasurer’s Office, and agency financial systems
Performs journal voucher entries to transfer money between revenue sources and accounts for errors, bank adjustments, and deposit corrections
Works with agency divisions, other state agencies, and banks for the reconciliation of deposited receipts. Records and reconciles cash, check, and credit card deposits from agency field offices
Reconciles batching activity to ensure correct deposits to customer accounts
Performs remote deposit operations for the deposit and reconciliation of agency check payments
Monitors E-Withhold payments in ATLAS and works with the Compliance division to process payment files timely and accurately
Assist and back up the supervisor, lead, and other fiscal staff in Treasury Management as needed

Required

Ability to compile, transmit, and reconcile financial data across systems
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite functions and applications
Ability to identify discrepancies, analyze data, and recommend solutions. Includes attention to detail and innovative thinking
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing sufficient to explain and interpret cashiering requirements to financial and non-financial audiences
Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, and standards
Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 25 pounds; sit or stand for long periods of time; perform repetitive motion activities such as sorting and opening mail, keying data into systems, and accurately entering data using 10 key by touch

Preferred

One year of experience as a Fiscal Analyst 1 OR
Two years of professional-level accounting, budgeting, and/or auditing experience
+ College-level education in accounting or a related field can substitute for experience
