Pi R-Square Solutions LLC is seeking a Senior Elixir Developer to build highly concurrent, fault-tolerant distributed services for Smart Building IoT platforms. The role focuses on real-time telemetry, event-driven microservices, device orchestration, and resilient backend systems using Elixir/OTP.

Responsibilities

Design and implement distributed, fault-tolerant systems using Elixir/OTP
Build real-time services for telemetry ingestion, device orchestration, and command & control
Implement event-driven microservices and streaming integrations (Kafka/Kinesis)
Use BEAM concurrency patterns (GenServer, supervision trees, ETS) to achieve reliability and performance
Design platform APIs and integration interfaces (REST/events)
Deploy and operate services on AWS with production-grade observability
Collaborate across platform, data, and frontend teams; mentor engineers and influence architecture

Required

7+ years in backend/distributed systems engineering
Strong hands-on Elixir expertise and deep OTP knowledge
Experience with high-concurrency, low-latency, real-time systems
Understanding of microservices, event-driven architectures, and messaging systems
IoT/telemetry platform experience (or similarly high-throughput event systems)
System design expertise: resiliency, fault tolerance, backpressure, capacity planning
AWS experience preferred; comfort operating services in production
