5+ years expOlive Recruiting is seeking a highly skilled International Operations Agent on behalf of our freight forwarding client in the Pittsburgh market. This role is ideal for a self-sufficient logistics professional experienced in managing international shipments and directly supporting customers.

Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of international shipments (air and ocean, import and export) from booking through delivery—documentation, compliance, routing, and customer communication
Prepare and process international documentation including MAWB/HAWB, ocean bills of lading, commercial invoices, AES filings, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc
Quote shipments directly to customers and procure costs from carriers, overseas agents, and vendors at a transactional level
Coordinate daily with airlines, steamship lines, truckers, overseas offices/agents, customs brokers, and clients to ensure seamless cargo movement
Ensure compliance with TSA, IATA, U.S. Customs, FMC, and other governing regulations
Track and monitor shipments throughout transit, proactively resolving delays or service failures
Maintain strong communication with clients by providing real-time updates and high-level customer service
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, carriers, and international partners
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years of experience in international freight forwarding with hands-on knowledge of air and ocean, import and export operations
Proven ability to manage shipments A–Z independently with minimal supervision
Experience quoting directly to customers and managing cost procurement on a transactional level
Proficiency in freight forwarding or TMS systems and carrier booking platforms
Strong knowledge of international trade regulations (TSA, IATA, Customs, FMC, etc.)
Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a time-sensitive environment
Preferred
Associate or bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or related field
