Responsibilities

Analysis/Design: Analyze business requirements for projects of small to medium scope and complexity. Assist with the gathering of requirements from end users

Coding: Write, test, and debug routine to moderately complex SQL queries, DML scripts, and DDL scripts

Testing: Under general supervision, analyze and document test results to ensure that technical requirements are met

Technical Support: Research and resolve routine to moderately complex data issues using SQL and other reporting tools

Documentation: Assist in preparing high-quality internal documentation

Communication: Clearly convey problems, solutions, updates, and project status to peers, customers, and management

Assist with the design, documentation, and implementation of Data Architecture standards

Review existing data models for correctness and compliance with standards

Analyze medium size datasets using Python to both visualize and make predictions

Seek to understand RRD business units and processes, through research and discussions with IT and business partners

Required

Bachelor's / 4-year degree in a technical field: computer science, MIS, mathematics, engineering, data science, or similar

2-3 years of related IT experience

Strong knowledge and programming experience with SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)

Strong knowledge of database concepts & structures (indexes, foreign keys, views, etc.)

Understanding of data modeling concepts

Fluency in office productivity software (MS Office, Google Workspace, etc.)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Superior critical thinking skills with the ability to ask thoughtful questions

Ability to self-start and collaborate with other team members while working in a remote setting

Curiosity and a strong desire to learn

Preferred

Working knowledge of Python or other programming languages

Experience with Star Schema / Dimension databases

Experience with data modeling tools, such as ERwin
